New York City

We are back from our trip to New York City.. we stayed for one night, down at a hotel in the financial district area. yesterday night we walked on Wall Street, passed Trinity Church, Federal Hall, the Bull, Bowling Green park, stood by the harbor and took some pics of the Statue of Liberty, and walked through the Battery Park where they have now put up one flag for each life that was lost in the 9/11 attacks. last time I was at Ground Zero, 2 years ago, it was still a construction site, but now - this was beautiful!

We took the Subway in to Times Square and took some pictures there, unfortunately it started pouring rain so we bought some umbrellas and headed for the nearest bar and sat there for a few hours. we had some drinks, talked to some brittish guy beside us, and sofia and I even got free drinks from the bartender... ? then he felt obligated to give Ricco a free beer. haha... nice of him!

At 1 or so, we walked back to Times Square and took some more pictures before we took the subway back to the hotel. what should have been like a 3 minute walk from the subway somehow took us nearly an hour because, obviously, we walked the wrong way. we were totally confident that we knew the way without the map already, and were did that get us? hmm, down by the harbor again.. haha!

Today we checked out and took the subway to what we thought was the south part of Central Park, but of course we messed up and ended up getting off at the northest part of the park. so we started walking, not complaining yet, we wanted to see Central Park, right? when we 2 hours later reached the south end, we werent so motivated anymore. and on top of that, we were starving. with two heavy bags (with wheels, thank god) and long jeans since we had expected rain today too but luckily had brought our sunglasses anyway, we walked down 5th Avenue, crisscrossing between tons of peolpe during lunchhour, desperately looking for something to eat.

Awsome.

Haha.. well.. eventually we found a very nice place to eat at and after about an hour of sitting, we were good to go, with a lot more energy than before. we shopped, no clothes, just stuff. then it was time to go to the bus station and go back to Boston, switch bus there, then go to Nashua. and now were back in the house, tired as never before. but we had a great time! love NYC - at night!

Alla forstar ju sakert vad som star pa engelska sa jag behover ju inte upprepa, men jag kan ju beratta att vi steg av bussen i NYC & upptackte att sofia o riccos vaska va borta fran bagaget. panik va min forsta tanke. men jag tankte inte stimma upp mej. vi letar forst. sa vi tog den vaskan som stod kvar vid bussen & gick runt & letade forbrilt efter nan misstankt vaska. en lang stund & manga varv inne pa stationen senare ser vi en kvinna sta & se sej oroligt omkring, sa vi fragade henne om de va hennes vaska vi hade, o hon drog en lattnadens suck & forklarade hur de kom sej att hon tagit deras vaska. lite stressad skulle jag vilja saga, vaskorna va inte ens lika varandra. men de va skont att de ordnade sej!!!

De va ett handelserikt dygn i storstan, haha. nar vi gick genom en park ner mot hamnen for att fota frihetsgudinnan sa va de FULLT me rattor till hoger & vanster som kom smygande i morkret. usch va ackligt! stora va dom oxa! sa mkt har jag aldrig sett, tur de inte va spindlar. jag ar namligen inte radd for rattor. men de har maste varit pga av stormen forra veckan som drog in over NY sa kloakerna svammade over. sa mycke rattor ska de inte va, aven att de ar en storstad.

Maste saga att de ar en ENORM skillnad pa folk i NYC mot folk i Boston. new york bor ar otrevliga & stressade & i boston & alla ovriga stader i usa som jag varit sa ar folk sa artiga & riktigt omtanksamma. sa de ar ju som hemma. sthlm VS gbg & liknande... inga konstigheter ;)

Men jag hade verkligen jatteroligt!
